Fractional CO2 Resurfacing is very effective in treating stretchmarks, basically the laser resurfacing will assist in blending the stretchmarks in to the skin and making them look less apparent. Treatment sessions depend on the severity of the stretchmarks and can take any where from 2 to 4 sessions for improvement. Another benefit of the Fractional CO2 Resurfacing is that the skin treated will tighten.

If you have new red stretch marks post pregnancy then I would recommend that you consider Skinfinity. Typically, Skinfinity is used for acne atrophic scars and facial skin rejuvenation but we have been using this for stretch marks with good results. Skinfinity is an ablative RF (radiofrequency) device that heats the skin to help build collagen and stimulate the body's own healing response. It requires a series of treatments spaced 1 month apart.

There is currently only one laser called the Palomar 1540 Fractional that has been FDA cleared for stretch marks with an average reduction of 50% in most patients.

The effectiveness of any laser treatment is going to depend on the patient, the practitioner and the laser being used. If you are not a good candidate for laser procedures then nothing will work. If the laser used is not the best for your condition, you'll likely not get results either. Our suggestion would be to find a couple reputable practices near you and go in for more than one consultation to hear what they have to say. Remember, no stretch mark procedures are going to be guaranteed, but some may really help improve the marks.
