How long will my face be swollen and bruised after Sculptra injections?

I do not wear heavy make-up to work and was wondering how much bruising there would be.

Unfortunately, there is no good answer to this question! Everyone is different. Our physician is incredibly experienced, so we rarely see bruising. However, this is not to say that it does not happen occasionally. Anytime needles are used, bruising is possible. That said, there are things you can do prior to injections to minimize bruising, like reduce wine intake, don't use anything that starts with a G, like garlic tablets, etc. If we see a bruise, we put medical-grade anti-bruise meds on immediately and you can ask you provider about vinegar/water soaks to reduce bruising after. Sculptra is the best, so the positives outweigh the negatives to us!

If your injector is skilled, there should be very little bruising. Sculptra is not like other injection products as it is injected very deeply, in many cases against the facial bones. For this reason, the vascular layer is bypassed, which means the possibility of bruising should be much less.

Swelling is much more common and you will be swollen for 1-2 days after injection.

I had Sculptra 2 years ago, then Botox. Injections were in my forehead & corners of my eyes. I did this 2X a year thereafter. The lumps in my cheeks appeared about 1 mo after Botox. Injector doesn't think they are related to injections, since Sculptra was so long ago. I'm afraid the bumps are going to get bigger. They are on both sides of my face, predominately the left side. I also have constant pressure in my temples & pain in my jaw. I had a CT scan, but it found no cause. What should I do?
