Why is my face turning red after having a VI peel?

I am having slight redness after my VI peel. I just had it yesterday, but my face is already starting to turn slightly red. Why is this? I put sunscreen on and used the post-peel protectant 4 times, as well as the Vaseline-like lotion I was given to prevent tightness and dryness. I am a little concerned. Could it be an allergic reaction, or perhaps from the food I've been eating?

The VI Peel is supposed to make you look sunburned at first. Your skin should be getting tight because it is getting ready to peel off! I would only use the products as needed once it actually peels so you don't run out. Once it begins to peel, you may be itchy and a bit uncomfortable, so those products are great for soothing those things. The most important part is DO NOT PICK or PEEL back any of the skin that has not peeled on it's own. If you do, those areas will become very red and sore and will peel all over. Plus, there is a higher chance of scarring!
