IPL / LASER APPLICATIONS Workshop OVERVIEW
This two-day intensive hands-on training workshop delivers an introduction and overview of Laser applications: how lasers and IPL work including the physics of lasers/IPL.
*Hands-on practical experience is also included in this workshop.
Didactic presentation will include:
- Commonly used dermatologic lasers and their parameters.
- Presentation of A&P of skin and hair
- Parameters for permanent hair reduction, photofacial, vascular lesions, and tattoo removal
- Lasers/IPL skin interaction, skin typing, operational and treatment safety measures including ANSI, and the Laser Safety Officer.
Workshop discussion will include:
- Management and treatment of adverse events
- Benefits, expected results and outcomes and available alternative treatments.
- The patient consultation process: selection and education, contraindications and precautions, safety and efficacy issues.
The IPL / LASER APPLICATIONS Workshop includes a “How To” Business Model Overview.

IPL / LASER APPLICATIONS Workshop Objectives
At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Describe the mechanism of action of lasers and IPL
- Discuss the patient selection process and indications and applications for use
- Describe the benefits, expectations, and results associated with treatment
- Discuss the contraindications, precautions, and safety issues
- Discuss and Demonstrate proper techniques for application and operation of the laser
- Describe measures to minimize complications and sub-optimal results
- Demonstrate proper management and treatment of complications
Workshop materials:
Participants receive a course manual, marketing tools, essential forms and templates on a disc that include history, consent, and policy/procedure forms.
Certification of Training & Continuing education, CE, credits:
Certification of Training upon completion of The IPL / LASER APPLICATIONS Workshop
CE credits:
RNs: 16 Contact Hours (CE’s) approved for Nursing.
Physicians & Physician Assistants: a maximum of 15 AMA PRA Category I credits™. (Physicians and Physician Assistants should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity).
*Each participant must serve as a model when/if appropriate.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Please note: All cancellations must be received (not postmarked) in writing via mail or fax transmission. Workshops require detailed planning and preparation therefore our Cancellation Policy is strictly enforced.
REFUNDS
Full refund, minus $100.00 processing fee, if cancelled a minimum of 14 days prior to the start of the workshop. Cancellations after this time will not be refunded but with approval from ESI administrators, may be applied to future workshops
• If this workshop does not have a minimum number of registrants necessary to teach the course, or if for reasons beyond our control the course is cancelled or postponed, registration fee will be refunded in full. (Please note, ESI is not responsible for deposits to hotels, non-refundable airline tickets or fees associated with necessary airline changes).
