Acne treatment may be applied to patients of all ages that have acne. The acne treatment may be performed using different devices with lasers, ultrasounds, chemical peels or topical ointments. Most frequently, the acne treatment is applied on the facial area, but there are other areas of the body that may benefit from acne treatment as well.
Areas Treated by Acne Treatment
The areas of the body where acne treatment is mostly used include:
- Face - the majority of treatment is applied on the face, as this is the most visible and most affected area of the body
- Neck
- Back, especially the upper back
- Arms
- Chest
The laser treatments and chemical peels can be safely used on other areas of the body besides the face. However, there are a few topical ointments that are specially formulated for facial use and shouldn’t be used for the body.
In addition to acne treatment, you may also change your diet to reduce the occurrence of acne. For body acne, it may also help to take showers more often, especially after exercising and wearing clothes that are made of natural materials such as cotton.
