History of Liquid Facelift

The Liquid Facelift, also known as dermal fillers, include such procedures as JUVEDERM®, Radiesse, Perlane, Restylane, Sculptra and ArteFill.  These procedures work differently than the more traditional facelift surgeries, or BOTOX® treatments. Both BOTOX® and liquid facelifts are most common among middle aged and older women and no surgery is required.

BOTOX® vs. Liquid Facelift Procedures

Liquid facelifts are different from BOTOX® because instead of relaxing the muscles, the liquid facelift adds filler to lift the wrinkles and lines in the skin. Some liquid facelift procedures even help your skin and body create its own additional collagen and add plump to the face.

Historical Usage

Historically, these procedures were used to helped reduce wrinkles. In more recent years, studies have been conducted by doctors and researchers, and discoveries have been made that point to the idea that with time, not only were patients' wrinkles and lines on the face lessened, but facial features were lifted as well. With various brands of dermal fillers and varying facial contours, it is important to consult a doctor before choosing which is right for you.

Scientists, doctors and researchers are discovering advances and new ways of doing things daily, so you can expect these procedures to continue changing as technology becomes more advanced.
