Mesotherapy is a non invasive treatment that can melt fat. The treatment is administered through injections and will take a few weeks to be fully effective. The procedure can be used in a lot of patients due to the fact that it won’t require surgery, but there are also a few medical conditions that may interfere with Mesotherapy.
Mesotherapy and Diabetes
Diabetes patients may benefit from a Mesotherapy treatment, but the effects of this treatment may not be optimal. If the levels of blood sugar are elevated, the injections may not melt the fat properly. Therefore, the patient may not lose weight, experiencing side effects such as uneven skin.
However, of all slimming procedures, Mesotherapy is among the most recommended for diabetes patients. If the diabetes is controlled, there may not be any side effects.
Liver and Kidney Diseases
Mesotherapy is an injectible treatment that will melt the fat and this will be eliminated through urine, but will have to be filtered by the patient’s system first. The liver and the kidneys are responsible for filtering the melted fat. The fat may have a high level of toxins, and patients with liver of kidney dysfunction may not eliminate the fat properly, resulting in a high level of toxicity. The patient should be monitored closely after the procedure.
Autoimmune Diseases
Mesotherapy is not recommended for patients with autoimmune diseases, as there may be unpredictable reactions of the immune system to the injected solutions.
Allergies
People with allergies may develop an allergic reaction to the compounds of the Mesotherapy injection. However, the allergies are rarely severe and the symptoms should subside within a few days. The plastic surgeon will perform an allergy testing prior to the treatment.
