Non-Invasive Alternatives to LipoDissolve

LipoDissolve is a cosmetic procedure performed in order to dissolve fat in certain areas of the patient. This is done through an injection instead of a surgery. In fact, the patient does not even have to go under anesthesia in order to have the procedure done. It is performed by injecting a chemical mixture into the layers of fat and connective tissues in areas where the patient wishes to lose some weight.

There are several different chemicals that are contained in the mixture that is used, but there are two in specific that do the job of melting away the fat: Phosphtidylcholine and Deoxycholate. While the first is a soybean extract, the second is derived from bile. Bile is a substance that naturally occurs in the body, and therefore, causes no allergic reactions. These two substances are used to dissolve the fat at the injection site, thus attaining the look of liposuction without the surgery.

LipoDissolve is a purely experimental treatment and has not yet been approved by the FDA. Until it is proven safe, there are still several non-invasive alternatives to LipoDissolve.

Velashape

VelaShape is a procedure that aims to rid certain areas of the body of cellulite, as opposed to heavy amounts of fat. This procedure is done using three different tools: Bi-polar radio frequencies, infrared light energy, and vacuum and mechanical massages. This procedure is recommended for people who have trouble achieving the firm skin that they want in troublesome areas such as the thighs, butt and love handles. This technique uses the above mentioned three methods to stimulate the fat under the skin in order to increase the metabolism of the cells. This is turn causes them to be carried through the body’s system and out through the lymph system. This helps to decrease the size and appearance of the fat cells, thus making the treated area smoother.

Zerona

Zerona is yet another totally non-invasive procedure to remove excess fat from troublesome spots such as the abdomen, thighs, arms, buttocks and the like. It is performed using an FDA approved laser, the Erchonia® Laser Scanner. This laser is typically used for assisting liposuction surgeries. This laser is focused on the fatty trouble spots in order to attack the fat cells that are directly beneath the skins surface. Once the fat cells are knocked loose from their locations, the body takes over and naturally gets rid of them via a detoxification process. This procedure is entirely painless and involves no incisions or injections. The patient may need to receive more treatments compared to LisoDissolve, but this method is FDA approved and is even less stressing on the body as compared to LisoDissolve.

Until the FDA is able to approve the use of Lipodissolve, you can talk to your doctor about the other safe alternatives. Both alternatives are non-invasive and produce similar results.
