Candidacy for Velashape

Velashape is a non-invasive laser treatment that reduces the appearance of cellulite. Using a combination of bipolar radio frequency and infrared technology, the Velashape device shrinks the fat cells and tightens the skin. The result is smoother, younger looking skin. Velashape can be used to reduce cellulite on the thighs, hips, buttocks, upper arms and abdomen. Here are some things to consider when determining if the Velashape treatment is right for you.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the procedure is a person who is close to their ideal weight. A good candidate will also be in good physical shape and participate in a regular exercise routine. Results will last longer for healthy, active individuals who consume a well-balanced diet. Velashape is not a weight loss treatment. Rather, it is intended to help treat areas of localized fat and cellulite. Therefore, people who are morbidly obese will not benefit from the treatment. It is crucial that patients have realistic expectations of the procedure and the expected results.

Certain Health Conditions Preclude Treatment

Patients who have type I or II diabetes, those who are prone to blood clots and those with conditions are not eligible for the treatment. Velashape is not appropriate for women who are pregnant or nursery. Additionally, people with pacemakers, heart values, metal hip joints or dental plates should not pursue Velashape.
