How Velashape Works

The field of cosmetic medicine now offers a non-invasive procedure that produces the same visual effects and body contouring previously available only through surgical liposuction. Velashape is a new technology that meets the popular demand for cellulite resolution and smoother skin while avoiding the risks and recovery associated with surgery. Velashape was designed to imitate the body's natural metabolic functions during aerobic activity in order to isolate and stimulate the human cell's own fat burning process. During the procedure, a laser is directed at the skin's surface to deliver a combination of three different energies. Radio-frequency waves and infrared heat are employed that introduce heat and energy to the site. As in jogging or other forms of aerobic exercise, this warms and energizes the targeted area. The introduction of this specific form of intense energy, however, increases the metabolism within the cell, providing it with enough fuel to cause it to break down its own fat stores. As the cell then efficiently metabolizes its own fat reserves, the fat chamber of the cell is deflated. The third component of the treatment uses a mechanical massaging action to stimulate circulation and enhance the effects of the lymphatic system. The device uses a combination of rollers and vacuum suction to not only administer the radio frequency and infrared heat, but to engage the lymphatic system as well. The fluids and adipose tissue previously trapped in the area, which are the trademarks of cellulite, are then absorbed and removed by the lymphatic system. Velashape takes a three-strike approach to the eradication of lumpy skin and cellulite. Energize, release and remove are the hallmarks of this unique treatment and they are offered in a safe, non-surgical environment. Although patients will probably experience some residual warmth and redness in the area after the procedure, there is virtually no recovery phase associated with the Velashape system. Velashape is the only non-surgical method recognized by the FDA to treat cellulite. To obtain maximum results in cellulite reduction, subsequent weekly sessions, and monthly maintenance sessions are likely required. Different grades or classes of cellulite require varying degrees of treatment. Results will continue to improve as treatments progress.
