Post-TriActive Lifestyle & Maintenance

TriActive is a non-invasive procedure, which employs a low-level laser and a contact cooling technique, as well as suction massage, to enhance body contours by reducing cellulite. The procedure is FDA approved, and the equipment has been classified a Class II device, which allows non-medical professionals to use the equipment as well.

What to Do Immediately after the Procedure

The procedure is painless, and you are only required to lie down comfortably while the practitioner runs the hand-held equipment over problem areas. Each session lasts for about 30 minutes on average. There are no known serious side effects or risks related to the procedure, though you might experience mild discomfort or swelling during or after the procedure.

The localized cooling technique will relieve you of any discomfort, but it does not have a lasting effect. Physicians recommend ice packs or basic pain medication to relieve any pain after the procedure. Any swelling you might face will also be minimal and will subside soon.

The massaging process and laser increase collagen production, and the massage also helps relieve any muscle pain you might face during the procedure. The three measures involved in the procedure also aid the elimination of toxins from the body and reduce fluid retention.

If you have undergone the procedure after other treatments, such as traditional liposuction, then proper post-treatment measures relating to the other treatments should be taken.

Maintenance Measures

You do not require any specific recovery time after the procedure, and you can return to your daily activities immediately after the treatment. You can increase fluid intake to aid lymphatic drainage. It is important to note that the results are not permanent, and you are required to follow a healthy diet and a balanced exercise routine after the procedure, to sustain the results.

Be sure to visit your doctor once before embarking on an exercise routine, to find out your current fitness level and whether the exercise plan and diet you have chosen for yourself is suitable for you. Consulting a nutritionist will also help you make a more informed decision. Choose a routine that you enjoy, as this will increase the chances of it becoming a habit.

Results will be visible to you after 5-7 treatments, while enhanced results can be seen only after 10-12 sessions. Once you have achieved the required results, you will only need to undergo one sitting each month. The monthly maintenance sessions are required to maintain and enhance the results of the procedure.

The procedure is suitable for all ages, skin and body types. There are no specific requirements placed on you after completing the procedure. If you are pregnant, or suffer from any condition that can be aggravated by increase in lymphatic drainage, such as hypothyroidism or congestive heart failure, then this procedure is not suitable for you. In such cases, you will need to consult your doctor before deciding to undergo this treatment.
