LATISSE? Recovery and Results

LATISSE® is the first, and currently the only, product approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to be used for the growth of upper eyelashes.

When applied on a regular and consistent basis, LATISSE® results in the growth of longer, fuller, thicker, and often darker upper eyelashes for most men and women. The initial results of LATISSE® usually become apparent after about four to eight weeks of consistent use, with optimal results appearing after four months of regular daily applications.

After four months of regular and continual treatment, some individuals opt to reduce application, applying LATISSE® once every two or three days. However, manufacturer recommendations maintain that results can only be assured with regular daily use, even after the initial four months of treatment.

If you choose to stop using the LATISSE® product, your upper lashes will return to their normal length and thickness within four to six weeks. Lashes that grow as a result of LATISSE® application will remain for the duration of a normal lash growth cycle, which typically lasts for about one to two months.

Not everyone will experience the same results with LATISSE® . Some individuals may experience longer or fuller lashes than others. In addition, not every patient reports darkening of the lashes. Also, patients need to understand that only new growth lashes will appear darker.

There is no recovery time associated with using LATISSE® . Some individuals may experience temporary slight itching, burning or redness after initial applications of LATISSE® but these conditions tend to disappear once the body becomes accustomed to the LATISSE® solution. Individuals who wear contacts are cautioned to remove their lenses prior to treatment with LATISSE® to avoid irritation, and excess solution that remains after the LATISSE® product is applied should be gently dabbed away with a tissue or soft cloth.
