Recovery after Body Jet Liposuction

Body Jet liposuction is a less aggressive fat removal system that is water assisted. The recovery time after the Body Jet Liposuction is less than the time required for a traditional liposuction, and this is among the reasons why a lot of women opt for this procedure.

After the Procedure

After the surgery, you may experience pain and a burning sensation. Some patients experience numbness in the area, but this is only temporary. Pain medication should be administered for up to 4 days after the surgery.

After the body jet liposuction procedure, the plastic surgeon will apply a constrictive bandage to reduce the swelling and promote the healing. After the bandage is removed, an elastic garment should be worn for a few weeks. You will also get oral antibiotics to prevent a possible infection.

However, you may experience fluid drainage after the procedure; fluid mixed with blood and fat may come out of the tiny incisions made during the procedure. A follow up appointment is scheduled within a week of the date of the surgery.

Recovery Time after Body Jet Liposuction

More than 90% of patients recover in less than 5 days after the Body Jet Liposuction. The recovery time can depend on the health condition and the age of the patient. However, patients can return to work after 1 or 2 days; a lot of patients opt for a surgery on Friday, so they can get back to work on Monday.

After surgery, strenuous activities should be avoided for at least 2 weeks, to allow the incision sites to heal.
