Recovery after ProLipo

ProLipo is a slimming cosmetic procedure that involves a fast recovery time. You should get informed on the recovery time and requirements to be fully prepared for this procedure.

After the ProLipo Treatment

After ProLipo, you will experience pain, but this may be managed with over the counter pain medications such as Tylenol. The pain should subside in 2 or 3 days.

You may also experience bruising and swelling; there may also be draining from the incisions for 12 to 24 hours after the surgery. Wear the constrictive garment for 1 week after the surgery and avoid exercising for 1 week. The plastic surgeon may also recommend some oral antibiotics to avoid infections. Let your plastic surgeon know if you notice any abnormal symptoms such as fever, puss or extended recovery time.

Recovery Time after ProLipo

Typically, patients may return to work on the day of the surgery as the treatment is performed on an outpatient basis; however, given that the surgery requires local anesthesia, you may want to take the day of the surgery off.

The side effects of the ProLipo surgery should be gone 1 week after the treatment. You may also start exercising 1 week after the procedure. However, it may take a few weeks for the skin to shrink and for you to see the optimal results of ProLipo. For best results, the surgeon may recommend a few more sessions of ProLipo; these may be schedules 1 to 6 months apart, depending on how you respond to the treatment.
