Man Arrested For Giving Illegal Botox Injections

Last year it was reported that a Florida man was giving illegal injections of Botox to people when he was not licensed to do so. Despite the fact that the police were tipped off to this problem, no arrest was made. However, a year later, that man has been arrested and charged with a third-degree felony for misrepresenting himself as a doctor and giving Botox injections to people who trusted that he knew what he was doing. The problem was that the man was not a doctor and he did not have the requisite license from the Florida Department of Health so there was nothing indicating that he had the skill and knowledge necessary to give appropriate medical care to the patients that came to him for Botox treatments. Those people who know the man say that he wasn't a danger to anyone but Botox is a medical procedure that should only be done by doctors trained to do it. Question of the Day: Should people who give illegal Botox injections be subject to penalty under felony laws? photo link
