Dysport is an injected solution to reduce the appearance of
moderate to severe frown lines between your eyebrows. The active ingredient in
Dysport is botulinum toxin A, which blocks the nerve signals that tell facial
muscles to move and contract during facial expression. Dysport is designed to
eliminate the appearance of frown lines without creating an unnatural, “frozen”
appearance.
How treatment with Dysport is performed
The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, and takes
about 15 to 30 minutes. Before your procedure with Dysport, the treatment area
may be numbed using a topical anesthetic to reduce potential discomfort caused
by the injections. Your dermatologist injects the Dysport between your eyebrows.
Recovery and results
Most people notice initial results immediately after the
procedure, and the full results will appear after two to three days. Dysport
lasts about four months, and then you’ll need additional injections to maintain
your results. You may have some slight redness and swelling following the
injections which will resolve soon after the procedure.
