Evolence was discontinued
in November 2009 and is no longer available. Learn about currently available
dermal fillers here.
Evolence is a collagen-based injectable dermal filler used
to treat moderate to deep wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. Evolence
is made of a collagen formula derived from pig tendons.
How Evolence is used
Evolence treatment is performed in your dermatologist’s
office and generally takes between 15 and 30 minutes, depending on the number
of injections you have. Preparation for treatment involves removing makeup and
applying a numbing cream of local anesthetic to ease discomfort at the
injection sites, followed by a trained practitioner injecting the filler into
target areas.
Recovery and results
Results are immediate and most people are able to return to their
regular activities right after treatment. Some bruising, redness, swelling or
pain may occur at or around the injection sites. Evolence has been shown to
last up to 12 months or longer.
