Laser 360 is a skin rejuvenation program that tightens the
skin and improves tone and texture using three different types of laser
treatments. Laser 360 includes an intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment for skin
tone, a near-infrared skin tightening treatment, and the Pixel resurfacing
laser for improved texture. These three treatments are administered over 60
days, which is why it is called Laser 360.
How Laser 360 treatment is performed
Your dermatologist will create a custom treatment schedule
to suit your skincare needs. Treatments may be performed all at once, or in
different combinations spaced out over time. Topical anesthetic will most
likely be applied prior to each treatment for your comfort.
Intense Pulsed Light
(IPL) treatment targets skin pigments such as freckles and sun spots using
quick bursts of broadband light. The IPL hand piece is passed over your skin,
and you may feel some mild discomfort. After about three to five days the
targeted areas of pigment will darken, crust, and peel off.
Near-Infrared treatment
tightens your skin and boosts natural collagen growth by heating the middle
dermis layer of your skin. This can improve the appearance of wrinkles and
loose skin. After treatment your skin will be red, swollen, and feel like it
was sunburnt. The natural healing process will leave your skin looking tighter
and more youthful.
Pixel resurfacing
is a fractionated laser treatment that smooths your skin texture by ablating tightly
packed, dot-like channels in your skin that are surrounded by tiny areas of untreated
skin. This pattern makes the treatment more tolerable and shortens your
downtime. Healing can take about a week. During that time you will have mild to
moderate skin redness, discomfort, and peeling.
Recovery and results
Recovery and downtime can vary depending on your treatment schedule
and the intensity of each session. For all treatments you can expect mild to
moderate skin redness, swelling, discomfort, and peeling. The Pixel resurfacing
has the longest down time of about a week, and the near-infrared and IPL
treatments have shorter recovery times. After the 60 day period you will see significant
improvement in lines and wrinkles, large pores, scars, acne scars and overall
skin texture.
