It depends on which laser we utilize for acne treatments and remember that
every patient is different. I have seen it keep acne at bay up to a year
after a few treatments. To be on the conservative side figure on 6 months to
a year. Also, remember that nothing is 100% for everyone. We have several
different lasers to utilize and each patient gets a customized plan.

Since acne is not curable, this is a difficult question to answer. The goal of our program is to shrink the sebaceous (oil) glands with lasers, kill acne bacteria the Blu-U treatment and skin care products and exfoliate (remove dead skin cells from) the skin with skin care
products. The one segment of the program that can have lasting results is shrinking the sebaceous glands. Bacteria will always return and dead skin cells are ever present. If we are successful in shrinking the oil glands, we expect to see less oily skin in the future, which should lead to less acne. While this is true for approximately 80% of our patients,
we cannot say exactly how long the results will last for any single patient. For some patients, we never have to see them again and for others, they come in every month or two for "maintenance" laser treatments. We wish we had a simple answer for you but unfortunately we do not.

I don’t have cystic acne. In fact, my face is clear right now, except for a bit of texture. But I am Hispanic and I suffered from bad moments of acne in the past year. There are a lot of dark spots left over and they are not going away. I want to try Accutane to prevent any future pimples. I’ve also seen people have such flawless skin while on Accutane and wonder if I could get on it just to help my severe hyperpigmentation. Thank you.
