Will Blue Light burn my skin?

I have very fair, sensitive skin. Is the blue light powerful enough to irritate or burn my skin? I sunburn very easily.

Blue Light therapy, as used in the Omnilux or Blu-U treatment of acne and other similar devices, is a non-ionizing form of light. It does not burn and does not increase your risk of skin cancer. Treatment with blue light alone generally results in a mild warming sensation, and should not cause any skin damage or burn. In my 7 years of experience with Omnilux, I have had a patient experience a burn.
When blue light is used in combination with the topical application of a chemical photosensitizer, as used for some pre-cancerous growths, this treatment is called photodynamic therapy, and does result in a burning sensation, redness, swelling and peeling.

Blue light is very safe and will not burn.? There are no ultraviolet rays in blue light; it is narrow band light (essentially only blue).? It does not get warm enough to cause a thermal burn when used correctly.? This is why red and blue light is preferred over tanning beds and natural outdoor light in the treatment of acne.? There are no harmful ultraviolet rays, only the benefits of the specific light color or wavelength used.

The blulight is not the same kind of light as sunlight and will not burn the skin. In addition, most Blu-U treatments are limited to 20 minutes.
