I know of no studies that have shown that patients who have received collagen treatments experience decreased collagen production. Collagen production does diminish with age but can be stimulated several types of procedures. I would seek the advice of a board-certified dermatologist who practices cosmetic dermatology.

The skin naturally produces collagen. As you age, the type of collagen is not as resilient and amounts of collagen are much less and this is why you start to develop lines and wrinkles. With various fillers used, this does not decrease your own ability to make
collagen.
