Lipodissolve: A Controversial Surgical Procedure

Ask anyone what they dislike about their appearance, and chances are that the majority of them will say that they could stand to lose some weight. This is especially true of women, who are very hard on themselves as far as weight goes.

Thus, it should come as no surprise that many women are interested in possibly getting lipodissolve. The lipodissolve procedure is one that has been praised for its innovation, yet criticized for its dangerousness. In fact, lipodissolve is such a controversial procedure that many doctors are advising their patients to seek other alternatives, especially considering the procedure is not yet FDA approved.

What does lipodissolve entail? Specifically, it is a procedure in which a chemical is injected directly into the fatty tissue. Fat tends to collect in little balls, much like tapioca. Usually fat is very hard to get rid of, which is why some people exercise extensively, yet still retain some stubborn areas.

The chemical is meant to burst these little balls and liquefy the fat. The procedure is thus thought of as minimally invasive, and one that the patient can quickly recover from. However, the chemical that is injected is one that is not regulated, and some patients have had very serious allergic reactions to it.

Additionally, the fat might be liquefied, but it is not completely gotten rid of. Rather, it simply moves to another area of the body, and this is definitely not healthy. Plus, it takes about a year before results can definitely be seen. So, taking all of that into consideration, this procedure might just not be worth all the risk.
