ArteFill Dermal Filler

What is Artefill?
Artefill is a unique microsphere-enhanced collagen filler used to correct deep nasolabial folds, or the lines that trace down from your nose to the corners of your mouth.
Other temporary dermal fillers are eventually absorbed by your body and require repeated maintenance treatments to maintain your original results.
Artefill is special, and different from temporary dermal fillers. The unique microspheres contained within Artefill are not absorbed by the body, which supports long-lasting, beautiful results. In the U.S., thousands of people have been treated with Artefill and are happy with their results.
How does Artefill work?
Artefill works in two ways to fill wrinkles. Initially, the collagen portion of the product fills in the wrinkle for an immediate result. In the collagen gel there are also microspheres in Artefill. Over time, the body absorbs the collagen portion, leaving behind the microspheres that continue to maintain wrinkle correction.
Once in the office, the procedure can be completed in a short amount of time. You will receive an anesthetic to reduce the pain from the procedure and with proper placement irritation will be minimal and you can quickly return to your normal daily activities. The collagen provides immediate results, which are supported and fully visible over time.
Is Artefill safe?
Yes. Artefill was approved by the U.S. FDA in October 2006 to be used as a safe and successful dermal filler when used to correct wrinkles. Artefill is safe, as shown in a clinical test where it performed as high in safety as the control. Artefill has never been recalled since it was launched in 2007.
How is Artefill different from other fillers?
Artefill contains a unique combination of collagen and microspheres that work together to maintain long-term wrinkle correction results, whereas temporary dermal fillers are made of different kinds of synthetic or natural materials that are gradually absorbed by the body, yielding wrinkle correction results that last only 3-9 months. Wrinkles correction is maintained with Artefill for a longer period of time due to the microspheres that remain at the injection site even after the collagen is absorbed.
What will my results be like?
Immediate results are expected, and studies performed in the U.S. verify that wrinkle correction is maintained for up to one year.
How many treatments are required?
Usually, desired results are achieved within one to two treatments. Decisions about additional treatments can be made during follow-up appointments with your specialist in the weeks following your initial treatment.

There could also be minor bruising that may last 3-7 days. Other side effects, which occur less frequently, include rash and itching more than 48 hours after treatment, persistent swelling or redness, and increased sensitivity at some or all injection sites. On rare occasion, any dermal filler may cause lumps and granulomas, although these are treatable.
What are the long-term results of Artefill?
A 90% satisfaction rating was given by patients surveyed 5 years after their first treatment regarding their results. Studies have been performed to evaluate the long-term affects of Artefill treatments, which concluded that the patients maintained a natural facial appearance and that the correction of wrinkles was maintained in some cases up to 5 years.
