Multiple syringes of fillers are used to help lift and volumize. No incisions are made but needles and cannulas are used.

Dear reader,

Thank you for your question. In our practice, a liquid facelift is performed by using injectables. There are different products on the market for this. Manufactures are creating hyaluronic acid in different formations to create volume and lifting. These lifts can be placed in the cheekbone area to help volumize and lift the lower face somewhat. As we age, we lose volume in our faces and this is what creates loose or sagging skin. By re-volumizing our facial features it brings back a more youthful look as when we were younger.

Additional areas to volumize and lift the face is in the temporal region. This helps bring our face back to a more oval appearance, which is more youthful looking than hollowed out temples.

The nasal labial folds (creases than run from the outside of your nostrils to the outside corner of your lips) is another great place to fill with an HA injectable. This fills in the deep crease, which also helps to create a younger look.

There are manufactures that also create re-volumizing through stimulating elasticity and collagen, by injecting certain acids into the dermal layers of your skin. This process typically takes approx. 30 days to see the results while the collagen fibers are re-stimulating and re-building.

There are many other treatments on the market. An evaluation with a cosmetic surgeon would be able to give you the best options for you and what you are trying to achieve.

There are no incisions in a liquid facelift. The product used is called Sculptra, and the reason it's called a liquid facelift is that the injections cause the body to stimulate the production of collagen, creating a lifting and filling effect. This is much different from other traditional fillers because others provide a synthetic filler, whereas the volume replacement with Sculptra is your own collagen.
