Radiesse in New York, New York (NY)

Radiesse is a dermal filler that smooths moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, adds volume, and boosts natural collagen growth over time. Radiesse can last 12 to 18 months depending on where it is injected. Radiesse is composed of tiny beads of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) suspended in a water-based gel.

How Radiesse treatment is performed

Radiesse is an in-office procedure performed with local anesthetic and takes about 15 minutes.

Your dermatologist will cleanse the injection area and apply a topical or injected anesthetic such as lidocaine to numb your skin. In some cases your doctor may mix the Radiesse with lidocaine before injecting it. The needle is guided under your skin and the Radiesse is injected along the areas of the wrinkles or folds. It is then gently massaged to distribute it evenly. Your skin will metabolize the Radiesse over time, replacing it with new collagen.

Recovery and results

There is no downtime after treatment with Radiesse, but you may have some temporary swelling, bleeding, or bruising that will clear up in a few days. Your results will be immediate and you can expect them to last 12 to 18 months. After this time you’ll need additional injections to maintain your results.
