No. It neither works nor is it the best procedure for stretch marks. There is no 100% method of treating stretch marks. In common use is topical tretinoin and/or combination of skin tightening procedures with concomitant ablative and non ablative fractional lasers. Check with a laser expert.

Microdermabrasion may result in mild improvement. For a more effective change, consider Laser skin resurfacing such as with the Palomar 1540 laser. See www.palomarmedical.com for more information.

There may be some benefit from microdermabrasion for stretch marks but it will not be great. Mid-infrared lasers and some skin tightening devices may be helpful as well. In my opinion, the best treatment for stretch marks has not been discovered yet. Strivectin may also be helpful.

Mircroderm is a poor treatment for stretch marks. Rather, a treatment that combines multiple layers of target, like Fotofacial and skin tightening, or fractional therapy would be best. Even a combo such as IR and RF (Velashape) has shown promise.
