Is Ultherapy painful? My doctor wants to numb the area

I went for a consult and my doctor said he wants to numb the area. Is Ultherapy painful? I was under the impression that it wasn't.

They have to numb the area because they use a scalpel to make a little incision to stick the probe under the skin. Yes, without them numbing it, it could be an uncomfortable sensation.
