Advantages and Disadvantages of Acne Treatment

Receiving acne treatment often provides patients with a high level of desirable, cosmetic relief. Though, this generally occurs as a result of high prices and long travels. Even still, patients will go to great lengths to get the appropriate procedure done in order to gain a better sense of self confidence through the physical removal of acne, on or off of the face.

Advantage: Wide Selection of Choices

Acne treatments differ greatly in a number of ways. Patients will get to choose from a variety of procedures ranging from simple creams and lotions to more powerful, but more expensive, laser based options. Not only does this range of treatment choices give patients a better chance of finding a treatment specialized for their personal conditions, but it also provides a range of prices as well, keeping patients monetarily satisfied as well.

Disadvantage: Moderately High Costs

Although a wide variety of acne treatments do exist, prices range from a low of around $500 per treatment and a high of over $2,000 per treatment. When speaking of low prices in terms of acne treatment, patients sometimes fail to realize what that low price actually entails.

Advantage: Cosmetic Relief

With advances in medical technology and cosmetic product care, patients generally notice highly desirable results after receiving only a few and sometimes a single acne treatment.

Disadvantage: Result Variance

Not all patients receive positive results from acne treatments. Some patients see different results in comparison to others, even after receiving the same exact acne treatment. This fluctuation largely occurs as a result of the patient’s willingness to maintain results through post procedural skin care techniques, which remain absolutely necessary if a patient longs to see long term results.
