The initial results of a liquid facelift are visible within hours of the procedure. The long term results vary depending on the type of derma filler that was injected into your skin. Generally, the improvements to facial lines and wrinkles can last three months to five years.
Initial Results
After the procedure, there is swelling, redness and possible bruising at the injection sites. These factors can affect your facial appearance. Your skin will be firmer and more youthful. As the swelling decreases, the overall appearance greatly improves. Your face will appear smoother and more natural as the derma filler gradually settles.
Botox
Botox treatments usually last three to six months. Touch-up procedures to maintain the improvements usually require a smaller amount of Botox. Individuals with a lower amount of muscle tissue in the face usually require less follow-up procedures.
Juvederm
Juvederm treatments last six to twelve months before new injections are required. It is made of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural component of skin. Restylane and perlane are derma fillers which are made of hyaluronic acid and have similar results with Juvederm.
Radiesse
Radiesse is made of calcium hydroxyl apatite. Its skin toning properties will last six to twelve months.
Sculptra
Sculptra injections will last two to four years, but require about three touch-up procedures in the first year. It consists of poly lactic acid.
Artefill
Artefill injections can last more than five years. It is used to treat nasolabial folds, the chin and the cheek. It is made of poly methyl methacrylate (PMMA) and bovine collagen. The PMMA isn't absorbed by the body, so it is retained at the injection site.
