Treatments that Can be Combined with Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is a non invasive slimming treatment that is administered in the layers of the skin (mesoderm). Mesotherapy is a treatment that is more recommended for the removal of small amounts of fat and may be combined with different other cosmetic procedures the patient may require. Mesotherapy can be safely combined with the administration of dermal fillers, skin rejuvenation or resurfacing treatments. If need be, liposuction treatments may also be performed.

Liposuction Treatments

Mesotherapy is the ideal treatment when the patient requires the removal of small quantities of fat (i.e. from the face or the neck). However, if there are other areas of the body that have larger amounts of fat, traditional liposuction or some other invasive liposuction procedures will be recommended. Mesotherapy may also be applied after a liposuction treatment, as certain areas of fat (i.e. back fat) are more difficult to break down by lasers or ultrasounds. The injections used during Mesotherapy can liquefy fat and the fat will be eliminated through urine.

BOTOX®

Mesotherapy may be used on the face as it is a minimally invasive treatment. If the face is wrinkled and the patient would like a tighter skin with fewer dynamic wrinkles, BOTOX® can be administered. BOTOX® is an injectible solution, just like Mesotherapy and these 2 procedures can be safely combined without the patient experiencing any negative reactions.

Purtox®

Purtox® is a similar treatment that is pending FDA approval, but may be used if administered by a certified plastic surgeon. Purtox® uses botulinum toxin just like BOTOX®, paralyzing the muscles and reducing wrinkling for 6 or more months.

Dermal Fillers

Mesotherapy will dissolve fat and will stimulate the buildup of collagen, having a subtle skin tightening effect. However, if the patient has deep wrinkles, these can be eliminated by administering a few injections of dermal fillers. There are several types of dermal fillers available on the market. Some may contain natural and synthetic compounds, which can be combined with the injectible solution used during the Mesotherapy. The effect of the dermal fillers may be permanent or semi permanent.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a procedure that will even out the irregularities on the surface of the skin. When Mesotherapy is applied, this dissolves fat, but may leave uneven surfaces. Microdermabrasion should be administered after the Mesotherapy treatment.

Fraxel Treatments

The Fraxel family of treatments may be used to resurface skin, and reduce age spots or other skin irregularities. There are different Fraxel treatments with different degrees of aggressiveness that can be suited according to the needs of each patient.

The Fraxel treatments will also reduce wrinkles and stimulate the formation of collagen.

Radio Frequency Treatments

The Mesotherapy treatment will offer a subtle skin tightening effect, but if the patient has a lot of excess skin, an additional cosmetic treatment will be recommended. The radio frequency treatments will send impulses to the skin layers and result in the formation of collagen, which will make the skin fresher and tighter.
