Is it a good idea to get a massage before botox injections?

I receive botox injections for migraines and are very painful in the neck and shoulders the day of and many days after injections. Is it a good idea to get a massage before the injections or do you think that doesn't matter?

In our practice, we offer Botox for cosmetic indications. As far as the migraines go, maybe a massage before the injections would help to relax you so you are not so tense.

Best of Luck!

I assume you're talking about massaging the face or the area could be injected with Botox? This will be irrelevant with regard to the effect of the Botox; in other words, neither good or bad. It is very important NOT to massage after the Botox has been injected because it might move the Botox from the area that the physician intended the injection to be made.

Certainly worth trying, but may not have much of an affect.

It probably won't make much of a difference, but if you want to try that, by all means do.
