Botox Results: Short and Long Term

BOTOX ® treatments are formulated to provide clients with dramatic, wrinkle-reducing results. These results are not permanent, so it is important to know how to best maintain them. The vast majority of BOTOX ® patients see results within the first week after treatment. Obvious and dramatic improvements will be noticed shortly thereafter. As the BOTOX ® injections begin to take full effect, the muscles around the treated area will slowly relax. Troublesome wrinkles, fine lines, and areas of concern seem to disappear completely or diminish to a remarkable extent. Improvements in these areas will continue to increase during the first month after treatment, after which the complete effects will be reached. BOTOX ® treatments create gradual, subtle changes in the skin tone and appearance. In some cases, patients report that only they can notice the difference, while in many others taking before and after pictures clearly indicates dramatic changes. Regardless of the extent or degree of the results, BOTOX ® treatments provide a boost to client's self-esteem, a level of renewed confidence, and peace of mind. Patients enjoy their more youthful look while maintaining a natural aesthetic. Unlike certain cosmetic surgical procedures, facial expressions remain natural and unhindered. Patients are still able to look surprised, frown, smile, and laugh, but with the benefit of fewer laugh lines and other wrinkles. However, since the treatment results are not permanent, the smooth appearance will begin to diminish after about four months. To keep the youthful, smooth skin they enjoy after their initial treatment, clients are advised to seek additional treatments somewhere between the third and six months. The most common retreatment time is somewhere within the fourth month after initial treatment.
