Dermal fillers may play a role in treating the vertical frown lines and are sometimes combined with Botox. That having been said, Botox or Dysport are the best options for frown and forehead wrinkles.

Frown lines come from an expression, so Botox Cosmetic is the best choice to relax those lines and reduce the stimulation of the muscle from elevating the brow and causing those lines to form. If the lines are very deep they can then be gently filled with a dermal filler, like Juvederm, Restylane or Radiesse.

It depends on how deep the lines are. If they are shallow, then botox/dysport is all that is needed. If they are deeper, then you may need to add a dermal filler. I don't recommend just doing the dermal filler by itself because you will find that the dermal filler will only last about half the expected duration.

Dermal fillers are not typically used in the forehead. Botox or Dysport are the injection products of choice in this area.
