Treatments that Can be Combined with ProLipo

ProLipo is a laser liposuction procedure that may be performed as an outpatient treatment and requires only local anesthesia. ProLipo can be applied on small areas of the body to extract limited amounts of fat and tighten the loose skin. To achieve better results, ProLipo may be combined with other cosmetic treatments including traditional liposuction, dermal fillers or skin resurfacing. These treatments may be applied before, during or after the ProLipo treatment and may also have a positive effect on the skin, tightening it, eliminating superficial and deeper wrinkles or erasing certain age spots, belmishes or scars.

Traditional Liposuction

ProLipo is a suitable treatment when there are small amounts of fat that should be removed from areas of the body that cannot be treated with traditional liposuction, such as the face or the neck. However, if on the rest of the body there are larger amounts of fat, it is more efficient to remove these using traditional liposuction.

There may also be areas where the fat will be more difficult to break down (i.e. back or arms), which should be treated with ProLipo.

Botox

If ProLipo is used on the face, this procedure may be combined with the administration of Botox injections. Botox is a solution that is made up of a diluted toxin which will have a relaxing effect on the facial muscles, reducing dynamic wrinkling. Botox may also be effective in the chin and neck area.

Dermal Fillers

ProLipo has a skin tightening effect and will reduce superficial wrinkles. However, if there are deeper wrinkles, these may be treated with dermal fillers. The dermal fillers may also fix certain areas of the skin that look uneven due to the liposuction procedure.

The dermal fillers are typically applied around the eyes, around the mouth, and above and below the lips. There are several types of dermal fillers; some have natural proteins and enzymes, while others contain synthetic compounds.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion may be used on the skin to give an improved aspect to the surface of the skin. Getting a ProLipo treatment will make you slimmer, and you may also want to get rid of sun and age spots, acne scars or blemishes that are unaesthetic.

Microdermabrasion may be administered prior or after the ProLipo treatment. Similar treatments include the Fraxel treatments or fractional resurfacing. All these treatments have a fast recovery time and will have minimal side effects such as redness or swelling.

Radio Frequency Treatments

Even if ProLipo has a skin tightening effect, you may require more extensive skin tightening treatment, if you have a lot of excess skin. The radio frequency treatments will stimulate the collagen, tightening the skin and giving it a more youthful look. The collagen will build up and the skin will be firmer and thicker.

The radio frequency treatments are typically administered in several 20 minutes sessions.
