Treatments that Can be Combined with Vaser Liposelection

Vaser Liposelection is a slimming procedure that uses ultrasounds to sculpt a body. Vaser Liposelection is a tissue selective treatment and doesn’t require surgery. The treatment can be applied in people that need to eliminate small amounts of fat tissue. There are a few other procedures that can be combined with Vaser Liposelection to enhance its effects or to give additional benefits. These treatments may be applied before or after Vaser Liposelection, as indicated by the plastic surgeon.

Liposuction Treatments

A lot of patients that opt for Vaser Liposelection do this because the procedure is non invasive. However, the procedure cannot remove high amounts of fat. There are patients that may require a more invasive liposuction procedure, which can be either the traditional liposuction or other newer procedures such as Smart Lipo or Body Jet Liposuction. The liposuction should be performed before the Vaser Liposelection, so as to extract the greater amounts of fat. After the patient is totally recovered and the skin has started to tighten, the plastic surgeon will recommend a Vaser Liposelection, which will take care of the smaller remaining amounts of fat. Fat cells can remain after the more invasive liposuction techniques, as these may not be able to break down all fat cells.

BOTOX®

If the patient gets the Vaser Liposelection treatment on the face, the plastic surgeon may also recommend a few BOTOX® injections, which will eliminate the wrinkles that form when the patient uses the facial muscles. The BOTOX® may be applied after the Vaser Liposelection procedure and the botulinum toxin from the injections will not interact in any way with the Vaser Liposelection treatment.

Dermal Fillers

Even if Vaser Liposelection may also reduce fine lines and wrinkles when applied on the facial area, the treatment won’t be effective in reducing deeper wrinkles. If the patient has deep wrinkles, the plastic surgeon may recommend the use of dermal fillers. The fillers are also recommended if there will be uneven skin after the Vaser Liposelection treatment. The plastic surgeon will decide which of the available dermal fillers are most suitable, according to each patient in part. There are fillers that contain natural or synthetic ingredients.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a treatment that may be combined with Vaser Liposelection, if the patient requires skin resurfacing and the removal of certain skin imperfections. Micrdermabrasion may be applied before or after the Vaser Liposelection procedure, without having any effect on the Vaser treatment.

Fraxel

Fraxel is similar to Microdermabrasion and may be used if the patient would like to resurface or repair damaged skin and reduce acne scars or age spots.

Radio Frequency Treatments

The radio frequency treatments are recommended if the patient has a lot of excess skin after the Vaser Liposelection procedure. The Vaser Liposelection treatment has a mild skin tightening effect, but if 6 to 8 weeks after the treatment there will be excess skin left, radio frequency treatments can be applied to eliminate the excess of skin. Alternatively, surgery can be performed, but surgery is more complicated and involves more risks and recovery time.
