The best treatment for acne craters is laser resurfacing. This is the strongest laser and will give you the best possible result. If you have lighter skin, then the best laser is the Deka Smartxide CO2 laser. If you have darker skin, then the Sciton Profractional laser would be the choice. These lasers can melt away some of the scar tissue that is causing the craters, plus it stimulates new collagen to replace the melted scar tissue.

Multiple treatment options with different levels of aggressiveness could resolve the small holes that have resulted from previous acne breakouts. You should probably go in for a consultation so that you can discuss the matter with an experienced dermatologist.

The two best treatments we've used for acne craters and small holes left behind after a breakout are both laser or energy-based fractional treatments. For us, the Palomar 1540 Fractional Erbium Laser and/or the
Matrix Fractional RF treatment both provide excellent results.
