How Young is Too Young for Anti-Aging Products?
We all want to look younger, but how young is too young for Anti-Aging products?
Many women in their 20s and even teenagers are beginning to regularly use treatments like BOTOX, dermal fillers, and skin resurfacing--even though their skin is in youthful condition. They choose to have these Anti-Aging treatments not to reverse the signs of aging, but as a preventative measure to avoid aging as much as possible.
This use of anti-aging products before some would say they are truly 'needed' has recently been taken a step--or generation--further. The U.S. retailer Wal-Mart is now targeting grade schoolers with a cosmetics line for tweens ages 8-12. Among other benefits, the geoGIRL products are touted to have anti-aging ingredients. There are 69 beauty items, including mascara, foundation, eye shadow, lip treatment and skin cleansers.
The new cosmetic line has met controversy as parents ask "How young is too young to not only wear makeup, but worry about anti-aging?" The answer is unclear, but important to body image issues and how our society views beauty and aging.

Non-Surgical 'Facelift' Pelleve Featured on Dr Oz
On the Doctor Oz show show today, featuring "Age Erasers", Dr Doris Day introduces an alternative to a traditional face lift, the new Pelleve 30-minute treatment to tighten skin.
Pelleve is a type of skin tightening treatment that has proven very effective in reducing the wrinkles and fine lines that plague many patients as they age. The treatment is non-invasive and as such, allows patients to receive the treatment in under an hour. The non-invasive aspect also makes side-effects minimal and allows for a shorter recovery time than is associated with other skin rejuvenation procedures.
Pelleve administers advanced radio wave technology via an exclusive hand held machine. The procedure consists of the hand piece being gently applied to the skin and delivering heat and energy to the deeper dermal layers, without damaging the epidermis. As the dermal tissue is heated, the collagen located in this deep layer of skin contracts. As the old collagen contracts, newer collagen is formed. With the formation of new collagen comes a smoother, tighter appearance of skin, as well as the elimination of any wrinkles or fine lines.
The treatment requires absolutely no anesthesia. Because of this, the entire procedure can be completed in less than an hour. In fact, for many patients, the procedure takes less than half an hour to complete, depending on the amount of skin targeted during the treatment. The nature of the procedure makes it possible for the patient to experience minimal recovery time. Side effects experienced during recovery may include minor swelling or redness. These side effects usually dissipate in two to three days.
Another advantage of choosing Pelleve for skin treatment is that the procedure is approved by the Food and Drug Administration. The FDA cleared the procedure following impressive clinical studies that proved the efficacy of a single Pelleve treatment in keeping skin wrinkle free for a minimum of six months.
Pelleve is a wonderful option for those suffering from an increase in facial wrinkles and fine lines, especially crow's feet and smile lines. The non-invasive treatment effectively removes wrinkles and keeps skin smooth for a full six months, while involving minimal complications for patients.
