Lipolite laser liposculpture is a body sculpting and contouring procedure that uses the suction of traditional liposuction with the fat-melting abilities of fiber optic lasers. The combination of the two methods effectively rids fat, but with less trauma, discomfort, swelling, bruising, blood loss and downtime associated with traditional liposuction alone. Healing times are also faster and general anesthesia is not necessary.

After numbing the treatment area with a local anesthetic, a tiny incision is made to allow a cannula (thin metal tube) to be guided into the cut. The cannula has a hollow center in which the specialist guides an optical laser through to discharge laser energy and liquefy the fat cells that are then suctioned out through the same tube.

By first heating and breaking apart the fat cells with laser energy, the fat is more easily suctioned out. The laser’s heat also has another benefit: it encourages collagen production which, over time, can lead to the treatment area being firmer and tighter.
